A Little About Me
Since I was a little girl growing up in Roseau, MN, I’ve loved to create. Whether I’m working on an art project, upcycling a piece of furniture, decorating my home, or coloring someone’s hair, I feel the most alive when I’m beautifying the world around me.
As a hairstylist, I’m fortunate to channel this creativity to help people feel beautiful every day. My studio is in The Spa Room, a newly renovated salon and spa in Northwood, ND. I’ve shared this gorgeous space with Master Cosmetologist and Esthetician Carly Beckel since June 2020. We love helping people make their inner beauty shine on the outside!
What sets me Apart
The hair industry is always changing, so I take every opportunity I can to learn new techniques that provide fresh, flattering hairstyles for my clients.
I work with all types of hair, but as a person with curly hair, I know how difficult it can be for people with natural curls, waves, or coils to find a hairstylist who knows how to work with hair that goes “outside of the lines” – especially in rural areas.
That’s why I’m proud to be a certified Curl Specialist.
What is a Curl Specialist?
A Curl Specialist is a hairstylist who received specific training on how to properly cut, color, style, and maintain curly hair. All hair textures are different, but many hairstylists are taught one-size-fits-all techniques created primarily for straight hair.
If you’ve spent years trying to “tame” your curls, I’m here to help. Using my years of professional and personal experience, I can give you a look that helps you embrace your natural texture while educating you on simple products and tools you can use to go from “frizz” to “fabulous.”
LIFE OUTSIDE THE STUDIO
In my spare time, you’ll find me with my two kiddos playing in the park, splashing in the local outdoor pool, or getting tractor rides from dad on our family farm outside of Northwood. Work and family life keep me busy, so I often have a cold brew coffee or Americano with cream in my hand!
